The gate was still open today and haystack road had trace amounts of packed snow that was fine to drive on with my awd sedan. Wore hillsound microspikes door to door. Too little snow for snowshoes just yet. The Bushwhack to bypass the first water crossings was clear to follow with foot traffic but will likely be covered by tomorrow. Water crossing was doable without wet feet but poles were essential and microspikes helped with the icy rocks. Saw a handful of solo hikers including a gridder over 65 which was so cool! Didn’t have the energy to add Galehead but Twinway had gotten some foot traffic, unlike Twinway to Guyot which had seen none. Beautiful chilly day to check off the twins for Nov. |
