 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Mike Z (Chatham Trails Association), I sent you an email with photos and a map!!
There are about a dozen blowdowns on the Conant Trail (the Mine Loop Trail and Connector are clear). Most of them are amenable to a hand saw (and I am very sorry that I left mine home today!). Two are at least 2’ diameter and would need a chainsaw. One is easy to get over, the other is a problem. Other than that, the trails are in excellent shape!! |

I hiked a loop of Conant Trail, with a side trip for the Mine Hill Trail and Connector. These trails are lovely, and it was a blissful day in the forest. For me. The two really nice hunters that I met were not having such a good day, as they weren’t seeing any deer. (Sorry, folks, I root for the deer!! If you know me then you know my first name, so it’s obvious!!)
Anyway, I did poke around the mine, after filling out the little form. That was fun!
I wore microspikes for the descents off both Lord Hill and Pine Hill as there is a smidgen of ice under 1-2” snow. |
