Comments
Comments: Welp I knew it would be a wet day and it could get cold so I headed off and moved quickly. I was not surprised I was walking with running water for a good portion of the day. I got to the water crossing which I was a little worried about but I took my shoes off as I was trying to keep my feet slightly dry at least for the half of the trip. I stood on rocks and only went in an inch or so. I met people when I got closer to the campsites. I was told there was wet snow on top which actually was not the case. I had used my umbrella from the water crossing on the way up all the way when I got the junction of liberty springs heading back down as the rain was quite constant all day and it kept me quite dry. My feet only briefly got cold throughout the day. I saw only about 6 people while I headed up and no one that I saw or talked to went to Flume so I had it to myself. The trail between the two peaks for sure need to be brushed and are going to get worse. it is insane the work liberty springs trail needs. I feel like the 10 years I have hiked this trail has gotten no work to keep it from getting wider and more eroded each year. On the top of Liberty on my way back through it did start to snow which was nice to see. Hope the rain and wet trail don't just turn to straight ice!
