Valley Way has several blow downs. Just below tentsite, leaners. Ok but snowpack will create problems. 25 yards above Lower Bruin cluster of 3, duck under but with snow this will be a crawl under. 1st .8 on VW water bars recently cleared. Great job! |

Warm start 3 new trails, no one seen until late. Summits to myself, a fantastic day! Brookside is a beautiful trail. Watson is a steep climb & I was blasted by the winds above tree line! Cairns hard to spot, tough in bad conditions. Worst wind was on Madison, no way to get out of it. Wow! Lunch at hut, Star Lake is my favorite way up Adams, no false summits! Able to duck out of wind. So peaceful up here. Quick trip to JQ for my 1st time. Winds were really blowing above King Ravine, seem to be funneled then blasted up! Hit both Bruins for 1st time for something different. Upper is gentle, lower steep. Rain overnight will change these conditions. Only 3 seen & all within 15 mins on way down. Thank You Veterans! |
