Perfect day for Bayle. Great views, sunny, warm except at the top where it was windy as usual! The trail starts at the gate around the corner from the parking area, before the bridge. This is all private property so please adhere to parking requirements. Footbed is great on the old road, not a lot of leaves in that section. The trail is not well marked and there are a some intersections with old logging roads in the lower section. If you use Gaia you will be fine, not sure about other gps apps. The boulder field is fun but blazes are scarce and hard to spot, worn out dark red ones that blend into the oak bark. It's fairly easy to find the route if you look carefully for where people have travelled. There are a couple of sections in this area with deep slippery dry leaves, but at least there aren't lots of small rocks hiding under them! Ledges mostly dry and our boots stuck just fine. When you approach the summit make note of where the trail comes up as there are no cairns or blazes to help with the exit. Bayle is a great little hike if you only have a half day.
