Trail was in good shape, and very well-marked going into and coming out of the gulch. Once in the gulch itself there were a few areas where an additional trail marker would have been nice. We hiked on an unseasonably warm day, so no snow or ice to note. It was ~20 degrees cooler in the gulch, which actually felt nice on such a warm day. The gulch felt long and unrelenting, likely because the footing was never guaranteed; lots of very slippery rocks and difficult to tell which ones they were before stepping on them. At 5'3", there were a few moves where additional height would have been helpful, but we were able to make it through safely. |
