Comments
Comments: This is a very straightforward, beautiful 4000 footer! The first few miles are relatively flat until after the trail junction and some small switchbacks. Then it climbs steadily until you reach the south peak where it flattens out for some amazing views along the ridge and descends for a short distance. The final push to the summit is steep but a reward is waiting for you once you reach the summit for amazing views into te Pemi wilderness and Dry River Valley. The fallen leaves are not a problem, neither is the water crossing. There is mud especially on the lower part of the trail around Whiteface Brook. There were lots of hikers on the trail including two parties with 4000 foot finishers, which included 17 yearn old Ryan and his family. This has quickly become my favorite 4 K! Spectacular views! So worth the effort!
