A MAGNIFICENT day in the mountains was had. I teamed up with a fellow goat, well, an Ibex, and we where truly in our natural habitats on Wildcat Ridge Trail. Though the Ibex of our pair seemed to have some gazelle blood mixed in. I am extremely thankful for their company, as they where my rabbit all day, and gave me something to run at. It's been a long road to recovery post surgery, and then another health issue. I was nervous going into today but it worked out well. We made quick work of the ski trails, actually scary fast, there might have been a strip of fire behind us. Noted tons of work (and a LOT to be done) before ski season on the myriad of ski trails utilized. I think they missed their window of finishing what they had to do. The excavator has done some serious damage to trails, but who cares, they are ski trails - right? No issues on the ridge, unfortunately someone has stolen the D & C hidden signs. Rocks were wet and or weeping on the descent to the hut, so it was a little slower than normal. This gridded out the Wildcats for me, and I can attest, even for #12, still as soul crushing as the first. Stopped at hut to fill up. Had my gu literally explode everywhere, was comical. Was 61.5 degrees at 1030 am, and the low was a balmy 41 last night. Ascent of the Dome was slow going for me but slow is smooth and smooth is fast. No issues along any of the C-M trail. Ran into several friendly familiar faces today, everyone was out getting stuff done while the temps resembled more of an early June day than November. I felt like the Queen, I was perfecting my wave, ha. Someone has also stolen the Middle Carter pencil. Speaking of Middle Carter, that finished my NH48x11! Had to dig deep for this one today. I'll leave you with a Trevor Denman quote, if you are a horse racing person, you'll understand. "The more he asked, the more he gave!" 566/576. Drip. Drip. DRIP
