Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Cooper had a great time, but there is no water on this trail. Bring plenty for your pup. Coop also scared up a porcupine near the summit of Piper Mtn. Thankfully, the porcupine climbed a tree out of reach and curiosity. Coop only got a single quill in his nose that I immediately twisted out. Once again, we got lucky, but he will never learn...

Comments
Comments: , lots of blazes covering the whole rainbow of colors. GMT started orange, took WBT blazed chartreuse, BT was yellow / white blazed, Blue trail blazed blue, White trail was white, OPT orange / PMT was red blazed.

Great quick hike on the way back up North for week; first hike in the Belknaps! Trails in fabulous shape, and well blazed. Met Becky and Prema in the lot as they were getting ready for the same hike, great to put faces to the names; so nice the chat with them before getting started.

Decided to take the route in a clockwise direction since the climb up Gunstock is slightly steeper. Saw only one other hiker on the trails, but multiple people coming up the lifts on Gunstock. Dry leaves on the lower sections of the trails (GMT & PMT, mostly) were deceptively slippery, plus they covered many of the roots and rocks making footing tricky and slow. Lots of great views from the summit of Gunstock and multiple ledges up high between the peaks.
