No problems, all rock-hoppable! |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Some blow downs, but nothing too disruptive. Though, for those seeking the waterfall view off of the Ammo trail, there were several blowdowns we had to work through. But it was worth it! |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw several and they seemed to be doing well. There's plenty of water on the Ammo for them, but possibly you'd want an experienced pup on this hike. |

My 9-yo who is working on his 48 was determined to hike Washington today, so we set out for it. It was a gorgeous day. Sure, the morning was cold, but it had a bright blue sky that stuck with us the whole day. Spectacular views from a not at all crowded summit (the joys of later fall hiking), little wind, encouragement from fellow hikers, and meeting his goal left him in great spirits, even though we had to end the day with headlamps. I also took the Ammo for the first time and loved it. As for conditions, anyone considering the loop should know that Ammonoosuc Ravine does have ice about 2.5 miles from the lot. For now, it's avoidable, but I could imagine some people wanting traction. I only saw one person with spikes today, so again, for now avoidable, but might be nice to start having them just in case because it was getting tricky to find your way up. On Gulfside and Jewell we saw no ice yet. |
