 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Same parking as for my previous hike to Belknap and Gunstock at the top of Carriage Rd. I didn’t realize you weren’t supposed to park at the trailhead so drove down just to drive back up again. Oops. 0.2mi road walk, if that. |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
White Trail is blazed in white, Old Piper Trail is blazed in orange, and Whiteface-Piper Link is blazed in green. All are easy to follow and I don’t recall any blowdowns. Wayne’s Way I don’t think is blazed but is signed and is trivial to follow. It’s a super short path that leads to a lookout nearby the parking lot. |

Day 359, Peak 360. 3rd hike and 4th hike of the day after White Ledge in Albany and then Belknap and Gunstock Mountain. Re-did this peak to help me reach the 365 goal. It’s always nice to revisit “the throne” at the summit anyway ;) No rain but the trails were and ledge were still wet and everything was in the clouds. Don’t get confused by a blue blazed boundary near the jct of White Trail and Old Piper Trail. I did an OAB to the summit of Piper then a quick visit to the pea soup Vista on Wayne’s Way once back at the parking lot. I believe I determined the highpoint of Piper to be right where the cairn is. Gaia had me at 2.5mi with 425ft of gain. It took me just under 1hr to complete. 6 more days and 5 more peaks to go… |
