Parked at Lafayette Place campground. Parking was full by 8:30 but lots of cars came after that and parked by the No Parking signs. |

Great day. 6.5 mi round trip. Started cold but warmed up quickly; in the 50s at the top. It's as steep as people say, both up Hi-Cannon and down Lonesome Lake; your quads will feel it the next day. Totally worth it though. We (group of 60 yr olds) did it easily in 7 hrs, with a long lunch on top of the Cannon lookout tower. Awesome views at the top. |
