Out and back to Tom from Zealand Rd. AZ to Tom from the back side is a nice trail, albeit long, but very mild, with a nice birch forest and open woods. Trail is well maintained with lots of bog bridges which are in good condition, save for one in the open area at 2900 ft. One end is rotted off, so if you step on the other end it will rock up like stepping on a rake, so be careful. Mt. Tom spur had a duck-under. I didn't see anyone on the trails until I got back down to the Zealand Trail. Beautiful day for a walk in the woods. |
