Hiking Trail Conditions Report

	Trails:	Sugarloaf Mountain Trail

	Date of Hike:	Wednesday, October 19, 2022

	Parking/Access Road Notes:	Small lot off of Nash Stream Road or could park on the side of the road so no issues. Long drive on Nash Stream Road but it is in good condition.

	Surface Conditions:	Leaves - Significant/Slippery

	Recommended Equipment:

	Water Crossing Notes:	Nothing significant

	Trail Maintenance Notes:	Trail is in good shape. There were 2 areas where tree trunks crossed the trail with the first one very close to the trailhead and the other higher up but easily climbed over.

	Dog-Related Notes:	Great hike for Piper and Zelda. Any dog should have no issues

	Bugs:	A few flying around as we descended near the trailhead with the warmer temperatures and sun being out. They didn’t bite us.

	Lost and Found:	None


	Comments:	Wet leaves from the trailhead until we entered the boreal zone. However not really slippery as the trail is basically a snowmobile trail and an old fire warden road and it’s rather steep but smooth. Again thanks to Sandy and Zelda for joining us. Saw only one other hiker all day who was descending from the peak as we were climbing up. Fortunately at the summit the clouds broke occasionally in various directions to allow some views as the previous hiker had no views. Cool and raw at the summit but as we descended became warmer and skies cleared.
