Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Nothing too difficult today. Either easy to step over or enough exposed rocks to get across.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails were all in pretty good shape. Mead Trail is clearly less traveled and it could use some work with dead branches and pieces of trees as well as maybe some blazes and a few water bars really need some cleaning. Guinea Pond Trail has standing water on it for a short distance thanks to some busy beavers
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a few today and they all seemed happy. Nothing too difficult a dog couldn't handle
Bugs
Bugs: None today
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: One trekking pole basket on the Mead Trail. If you can identify it you can have it back :)

Comments
Comments: Up the Wentworth Trail was nice with still changing leaves and many interesting trees along the way. Easy brooks to cross and a nice small viewpoint with views to the lakes. Summit was nice and there were a few others up there as well. Room to spread out though on open rocks. Coming down the Mead Trail it was "mushy" as my daughter put it in some of the upper section with mud/water in the trail. Lower down it dried out, but with all the leaves on the ground you really have to pay attention to stay on the trail in some sections. Guinea Pond Trail now has a high water detour that wasn't there when I was last here 2 years ago. This is good though as the trail has deep water on it. But the detour is a bit wet/muddy in places too. After that the trail has standing water covering it thanks to the beavers. You can mostly stay on the side of the trail, but you might have to cross it a couple times while doing so. Some logs/sticks have been placed to help in the deeper spots, but a few move quite a bit or still dip under the water. Basically you should expect to have your shoes go into the water at least some here. Since mine aren't water proof and we were heading out, I just stepped right through the water in a couple places helping my daughter keep her feet drier. The road walk is long and a bit hard on the feet since it is so hard packed. The last half mile back on trails to the truck was nicer on the feet and Beede Falls was a nice little stop as well
