Comments
Comments: Expected to do the hike by myself but Steve was there waiting for me. The parking lot was filled. With very few exception most hikers wore snowshoes. The trail from the parking lot to the junction to the Osceolas was well packed and we barebooted. At the jct. we put on our snowshoes and found it easy to climb the steeps. The trail between the peaks was not well broken out and showed deep postholes from a couple of hikers who wore crampons. We were able to do the steep part with snowshoes, though crampons might be a good idea. On the way down from East Peak we took our time. Crampons certainly would make the descent easier, though there were no ice issues. With the many snowshoers we encountered the trail should be well packed out until the new snow arrives.
