| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Jefferson Notch Road still open (duh!), plenty of room at 8AM |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Big x-ing on Boundary Line is tricky with the current high water level; wet feet or shoes & socks off. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Gulfside surprisingly wet in places. Couple of small blowdowns on Jewel down low, but easy to hop. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
The ascent on Caps Ridge is definitely not for all dogs. The @apprenticedirewolf needed a little encouragement, but was fine getting up on her own. I opted for the long way down over Jewel to spare her the descent on Caps and risk a sprain. The rough stuff up top will beat up pads that aren't used to it. Plenty of water right now. Lots of other well-behaved dogs on the trails. |

| Comments: |
Caps Ridge is a fun way to get straight to the ridge. Connecting back to Jefferson Notch via Boundary Line is not ideal -- you end up on the road for almost a mile, but it gives you a variation and a less daunting descent. Boundary Line is a bit soggy, too, so ymmv. |
