| Dog-Related Notes: |
Cooper had a fantastic time; only spotted one other happy pup heading to the summit!! Lots of small streams to grab a drink for dogs on the lower half of the Skookumchuck Trail; part of the trail runs right along the stream. The upper half has fewer spots for drinks, and there is no water on the ridge trail. Bring water for your pup for travel along these sections. Overall the trail is quite gradual, some boulders at higher elevation and along the ridge, but these are not likely to pose a problem for most doggos. |

Wanted to hike this route to the summit for a while, it proved to be a great day to do so. Views were stunning, still. But, this may not last with the changing weather predicted for the next few days. With the rains, I expect the trail to be wetter, and likely more slippery (wet rocks and leaves); it was not much of a problem yesterday. There were tiny spots of snow at the higher elevations, much was avoidable; only present in a few steps along the trail.
Didn't see anyone until the Garfield Ridge Trail, where there were several people out enjoying the day. Nice quite forested hike. |
