 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of space at the depot just below the AMC Highland Center at 8am, with a good number of cars nearby. The lot at Willey Station Rd at the end of the Ethan Pond Trail was mostly full mid-afternoon. Back up at the train depot there were a lot more cars than in the morning, with a lot of folks walking around with cameras, plus a nearly full tourist train starting back down the notch as we pulled back in. |

Rock hops; water was low. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails mostly in good shape. Blowdowns have been cleared on A-Z a ways above Avalon junction, which had been there earlier in the summer. On the steeps down from Field toward Willey, there is a brief washout spot, with a lot of exposed tree roots, both blocking the trail but also providing handholds for backing down over that drop. Then there is one blowdown blocking the trail on the somewhat level part of the WRT further on toward Willey, with a few feet of herd path around it. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw one, headed up A-Z, small, a bit excited, leashed by owner,. |
|
 | Bugs: |
None |
|
 | Lost and Found: |
Some small garments, including a sock and bra, hanging from a branch on the A-Z. Left there, wondering about how the bra came to be there. |

 | Comments: |
Wonderful fall day for hiking, with full foliage, clear skies, snow high on Mt Washington, even a bit in the shadows high on Field. Another great hike with the OTHH. |
