Comments
Comments: Last time I tried to visit Peaked, I found the approach from Indian Pond Rd. that I used the first time was closed. A friend told me about this approach and thought I'd give it a try.

From the town forest, I walked the remainder of Bedford Rd. to the last house/blueberry farm. It feels a little like walking through their front yard, but it's kosher. The maintained road ends here and just beyond a lesser road departs on the left at an orange arrow sign. (This is the other end of the road that came up from Indian Pond Rd. that I used last time). I passed some interesting cabins and sugar houses along this road.

Near the height-of-land on the road, the unnamed trail, blazed in blue, leaves on the left at a cairn and some other items. It ascends quite steeply to the top of the cliff on Peaked, which has fantastic views of Black Mtn., Sugarloaf, The Hogsback, Mt. Moosilauke, Piermont Mtn., Mt. Cube, and Smarts Mtn. A short herd path leads from the cliff to the unrecognized high point. There is what appears to be a large PVC canister at the cliff, but I couldn't get it open.

On the walk back to the car, I met the owners of the berry farm, and thanked them for allowing public access. They are totally cool with it and stated that the land was "meant to be shared". Right on.
