If you are looking for some solitude, consider Mt Parker. Foliage was popping but I didn't see another soul on the trail. There are a couple of small brook crossings at about the one-mile point but after that there is no water to be found. While the grades are fairly moderate, note that you will have to ascend Oak Ridge both going out and on the return which ands to the total elevation gain. After the Mt Langdon Trail turns off and the Mt Parker Trail begins the trail takes a winding route which may be difficult to follow once leaves become an issue. There are no blazes on either trail. At the summit, there is a wonderful view of Mt Washington, the southern Presidentials, and peaks to the north, east and west. |
