Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: From Rt 26 in Errol, follow Coarser Brook Rd North for a little more than 6mi. I’d think this would be doable by even low clearance cars as it’s a wide dirt road in good shape though it has some pretty rocky spots when it goes up and down more steeply. Cross a bridge, then turn left onto Greenough Pond Rd. Follow it for another 2.5mi or so. Here, what I believe is still Greenough Pond Rd bears left and Roaring Brook Rd bears right. I bore left to stay on the road. While it’s generally in good shape, I’d only take mid clearance plus cars on it due to a very muddy spot that takes up the whole road beneath one of the Nathan Pond Ridge Peaks. It’s mostly just filled with water. Not knowing how deep, I went up alongside the edge of it, tilting my car slightly. Wouldn’t do that with low clearance. I parked 1mi NW of the jct with Roaring Brook Rd.

Comments
Comments: Day 336, Peak 323. 6th peak and hike of the day after the 2 Crystals, North Blue Ridge, Diamond Ridge, and Nathan Pond NW. I parked NE of the peak where there’s still woods. Had I parked any further down the road, I would’ve parked below the logged areas. When planning this peak, I figured this was smart as usually logged stuff is nasty to hike in, but the going was decent on NW peak and it probably would’ve been here too. But instead, my stubborn ass parked next to the woods, and, if I remember correctly, whacked up through real tight young stuff nearby the logged area down low. Sooner or later it did open up and was nicer, but very steep.

No problems finding the jar as far as I recall. I descended along the same route to the NE. Gaia had me at 1mi, 700ft I’d gain. It took me just over 1hr to do. 29 more peaks and 42 more peaks to go…
