Nice sunday up to Galehead Hut, with wet trail most of the way. Up to S Twin ahead of incoming weather-always a grind to summit on wet rocks.
Quick decision to N Twin-many deep muddy patches which can be managed with rock hopping; waterproof boots very good to have. Weather closed in while on viewpoint prompting return to S Twin where light rain and wind sent us down to hut just in time for dinner.
Surprisingly good weather for trip back to car monday morning on still wet trails.
Nice cheery group at hut, if smaller. Always pleasant staff, of course.
Foliage very premature. Always great to leave all else behind. |
