| Water Crossing Notes: |
A brook has part of its flow diverted down the Livermore Trail for hundreds of feet in a section between the logging road on the north end of the trail and the bottom of the gorge. One can hike on the sides of the brook and use rocks in the brook. When descending in this section take care to spot the point where the Livermore trail turns left out of the brook. There are other small brooks that are not difficult to cross. Lots of boggy areas where you're sure to get muddy boots. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Severe water erosion on the logging road section at the Kancamagus Highway end of the Livermore Trail. There were many gullies with the deepest at about five feet. Down hill from the gullies the trail passes over the alluvium. Trail blazes not always evident however I did not go astray even with the leaves covering the pathway. Bog bridges near Livermore Pass were very slippery. The tree cross sections by the bog bridges that were suppose to aid passage in the boggy area were slippery and wobbly making them a poor platform to avoid the mud and water. There were several trees with branches that blocked passage on the Livermore Trail (used rough loop bypasses). The trail just south of Livermore Pass had lots of slippery moss covered rocks that required care. The sign at the junction of the Livermore Trail and the Old Skidder Trail indicated the Old Skidder Trail was closed due to hazardous conditions. The pink tape which had been placed across the Old Skidder Trail had been severed. The other trails that I hiked today were in good condition except for some minor erosion on Pine Bend Trail between Scaur Ridge and North Tripyramid. |

| Comments: |
The Livermore to Scaur Ridge approach to Tripyramid provided an alternative to the usual Pine Bend or Mt Tripyramid Trails. As noted in the White Mountain Guide, this section of the Livermore Trail is very wet and muddy. The gorge and Livermore Pass were interesting but I would only recommend the trail after an extended dry period. Somebody placed a picnic area sign at the foot of the sign where the Kanamagus ski trail crosses the Livermore Trail (in the middle of nowhere). |
