Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I parked in a pulloff at the junction of Twist Hill Rd. and Morey Pond Rd. in Wilmot. The pond and hill are just over the town line in Andover. High-clearance could drive all the way down to the pond, where there is also parking and a boat launch.

Trail Maintenance Notes: Sections of this route coincide with something blazed as Morey Pond Loop, which appears to be an alternate route of the SRKG that visits the pond, but it's not entirely clear.

Comments
Comments: Inspired by a friend's FB post from yesterday, I made a visit to the wee Morey Pond in Andover, and also did a short bushwhack up to the adjacent Morey Hill, for a loop of 1.9 mi.

Most of this route is on roads and grades are gentle except for the whack up from the pond (a great view of Mt. Kearsarge), which is steep near the top. From the pond, I went up through open woods from the S and reached the flat-ish summit quickly. The top is wooded with no recognition. An overgrown ledge nearby provides a restricted view of Kearsarge. From the summit, I descended very gradually to the NW until I hit the Class VI portion of Twist Hill Rd. (also the SRKG here) and walked that back to the car.
