Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parking area could probably fit more than a dozen cars though we were the first ones there around 8:30-8:45am and there were only 3-4 cars tow of which were ours when we returned just shy of 12:30pm. Dirt road in but easily passable by any vehicle.

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: All the trails were easy to follow. Reed Road Trail was blazed in blue. Blazes looked fresh enough; not sure how frequent they were. Dave Roberts’ Quarry Trail is blazed in white. Blazing seemed to be pretty regular. The trail and summit signs were intact and the only blowdown I recall is a rather large on on Glidden Rd with a clear herd path around it.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Sure.
Bugs
Bugs: Noticed a couple on our way down but not bad at all.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: None

Comments
Comments: My fellow good for nuthin’ lazy slacker partner in crime wanted to meet my father, so I organized a hike. A nice little redlining loop up Reed Road Trail, across the ridge, and down Glidden Road with short OABs to East Quarry and Rand Mtns. Trails were pretty dry. Reed Road Trail is not nearly as steep as the contour lines make it look. Very moderate. Nice switchbacks. There’s some rock scrambling up to East Quarry but there’s a fairly well worn path around to the right (if you’re ascending) which we used to descend. Very flat, pleasant ridge walk between the two Quarry’s. More up and down with the ledges between West Quarry and Rand. The bypass of the ledges is still steep. Went down the bypass, up the trail, then back down the bypass.

Only saw two other folk out, one with her baby (okay, so three people) enjoying the quiet day in these nice little mountains :) Only complaint I have is that in re-reading the guidebook we missed the best views of the day because we never turned around on Reed Road Trail…oops. No views at the summits though they were pleasant. Small view on the ledges toward Rand and Gunstock, then a nice view of Winnipesaukee on the way down Glidden Road.
