 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Cooper had a great time, as usual; was the only doggo on the trails today. Lots of water on the upper elevation sections of Airline and Valley Way for quenching a pups thirst; more water on VW than A. And the stream next to the trail at lower elevations of VW provides additional opportunities for a thirsty pup. Once above treeline, no water available; make sure you have plenty for your pup. Water bowls at the hut were filled. |
|
 | Bugs: |
Nasty swarming little flies on the summit of Madison; didn't stay there long. Breeze didn't seem to get rid of them either. |

 | Comments: |
Nice quiet time on the trails today, in fact I had several of the summits to myself (and Cooper). Met several people coming down from nights in the huts and a couple of SOBO hikers. Trails were easy to follow even over the rocky terrain and all were blazed, but blazes at the higher elevations were a little faded. Wasn't planning on summiting Adams and Madison (goal was Quincy Adams), but we made such good time for these peaks and views were great, so we went for all of them. Note, didn't see a trail or cairns to Quincy Addams summit, we just jumped from rock to rock. |
