Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked at the Basin parking lot and walked down the bike path to the shortcut up to the Liberty trail. You don't see the shortcut on the regular trail map unless you look in the AllTrails App(or another one I suppose) and blow up the picture then you see the extra trail. Saved some steps from where I had parked.

Comments
Comments: Started up Liberty Spring Trail at 0715hrs and arrived Mt Liberty at 1025hrs. At 76 the 1MPH pace climbing seems to work ok. The upper 1 mile on Liberty trail is all rocky and tedious. the Liberty Spring tent site was in full operation with lots of folks($15 per hiker per night). The Franconia Ridge was was nice and the scramble up to the rock cairn and view was nice and the next scramble to the Mt Liberty summit was also nice. the views from both locations were fantastic. Then went on to Mt Flume. Leaving Liberty some good scramble going down and several wet/muddy trail sections on the way to Mt Flume. The views at Mt Flume were also great. Talked with several people that came up the Flume trail and they said there were a lot of scary areas in the slide area and lots of wet rock from the storm on Friday. It was tough going up but they would not want to go back down the same way. So that being said I returned the same way I had arrived. All in all it was 9 miles in 9 hours on the trails. Including rests, lunches, conversations and Kodak moments. Blue skies, cool/moderate temps and a great day.
