Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Plenty of room just before 6am in the morning. Only a half dozen cars or so in the large lot. Maybe a dozen by 7:45am. Still plenty of room though I’m sure this lot easily overflows on weekends.

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The trail is blazed in yellow. Fresher down low in the more recently rerouted sections but in general the blazes are faded or non-existent. Well trodden and easy to follow though. Log steps and such in the muddy sections down low could be replaced though they may have originally been placed by people that aren’t maintaining the trail. If there were blowdowns, then I don’t recall them.

Comments
Comments: Day 298, Peak 275. 1st hike of the day. I walked in the still wet/damp Signal Ridge Trail to the logging road that crosses it traveling N-S about 1.4mi in. The trail was muddy in the usual spots but not as bad as I might have thought. It was a pleasure meeting and talking to Peter who was on his way in to Carrigian. Best of luck with your grid and figure endeavors!

I walked only a few hundred feet down the road before starting my whack. Decided to follow the minor NW ridge of the peak rather than leave the road at the shortest distance to it. The road was overgrown leaving a single track of a herd path anyway and the bushwhack, while a little longer this way would also be less steep. A bearing was helpful at first leaving the road in this saddle but the ridge soon became more apparent and it was easy to follow to the top. Open hardwoods most of the way. Some pokier stuff just before reaching the summit then opened up again at the summit plateau. Easy grades down low, giving way to more moderate grades, then steep at the end with one bit of easy scrambling up and around some boulders.

I signed in and headed back down on the same line until the very end where I began to get pulled too far to the right (north) so just whacked back to the trail about 0.1mi east of the road. One small wet section you may come to just before reaching the trail but east to work around. I found some old moose bones around here. The hike was about 4mi with 850ft of gain, taking me just under 2hrs to complete. 67 more days and 90 more peaks to go…
