Bypassed the 1st 2, level was higher than expected due to recent rain still easy. 4 or 5 small ones all minor within the 1st mile after big crossing |

Can we just make the herd path the primary route. Other than mud all trails in great shape. |

Good with lots of water running. Plenty of mud as well! Twinway up/down could be an issue |

Beautiful day to be out. Cool early but muggy in woods. Recent rain left all trails wet with running water & mud. The flat area on North Twin Spur just below South Twin had the worst mud, no avoiding it. Haven't seen mud like that since spring! Very windy on all summits today, felt great especially in the afternoon. Had a temp of 76 on South Twin, very warm today. Little hazy but views were stunning! Solo on South peak both times, that never happens. Twinway up & down is a real ass kicker! No issues to Galehead minor mud. Lunch at hut, very quiet here also unusual. Not as many out as I expected, saw the most folks on the Twinway. 7 thru hikers all commenting on how tough the Whites are. Did my good deed & gave a ride to Gale River trailhead for a women from Toronto. Met at the river crossing & hiked out together. Just a great day on the trails!! |
