A few. The most notable:
- Corgy at the summit with a couple.
- 3 year old Austrailian Shepard with a young couple walking up near the beginning of Glencliff trail as we descended. |

Thankfully not much to report. Bugs were nearly non-existent.
Summit winds kept even the flies and hover flies scrambling for purchase.

Beautiful day on the mountain. High, diffuse clouds upon our initial ascent of the lower section of Glencliff.
By the time we reached the upper part of Glencliff, there was evidence of some sun. And certainly from the Carriage road
and up we had some sun. By the time we reached summit area, a nice, steady breeze welcomed us.
Summit area was littered with anywhere from 2 dozen to 3 dozen hikers at times. Some 4 or 5 AT Thru-hikers. Nice meeting you Achilles, Toad and Crunch Time(?).
We stayed for over an hour to have lunch, take photos and certainly to take in the views.
Enjoyed chatting with Neal who, along with his wife and family were from the Schenectady/Albany, NY Area. Neal, his wife and another family member just finished their 48 4000 footers on Moosilauke this very day. Congrats on finishing your NH 48!
Never tire of da 'Moose'. It's a great hike in Summer or Winter. Especially Glencliff in the winter!
Vast views of the Appalachian Mountain Range. Even on a day where the distant peaks looked hazy it was so wonderful to see so many peaks and get so many great views. Awe-inspiring and comforting. Always humbles me to see so much beauty in and sense the vastness of our earth. A great day on the mountain. |
