 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Cooper and Piper has a blast (especially once finding a mud puddle at the end of the hike). Trails were good for the pups, even the herd path. They were first up on to Peggy's Perch, the 'scramble' was no problem for them. There was one ledge on the way to Middle that may present a problem for a dog (may need to boost your pup up), but they found a by-pass this time. |

Lots of people hiking the Osceola, and several to the East peak. Didn't see anyone else heading over to the Middle and West Peaks. Herd path was easy to locate at the first switch-back left when descending off Osceola. Path was easy to follow to both summits. Multiple side trails on the way to the middle peak summit, but most seemed to return to the same main path; there were no side trails between Middle and West peaks. The trail is slightly steep heading up to the West summit, but it is also very short and the 'scramble' is just a climb on to Peggy's Perch. The views from the west summit are fantastic, worth the effort. Both canisters were present; Middle south of the herd path as described, West just past the Perch on the herd path. Return was also easy to follow by reversing steps. |
