Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All of the crossings were easy today; good to see the brooks refreshed by recent rainfall.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Not sure who maintains this section, but it is in fantastic shape all the way to the ponds. The stretch along the ponds is a bit brushy in places, but nothing crazy. I dispersed evidence of a recent campfire.

Comments
Comments: This was the perfect outing for me today, and Tunnel Brook Notch was place I'd been meaning to get back to; I was last here in 2016.

As noted above, the trail was in impeccable condition and mostly dry with just some minor muddy areas. I was disheartened, however, to see that a dirt bike (motorcycle) had ridden the trail to the ponds and beyond. Overall, there was very little damage to the trail, but they did churn up some muddy spots.

The ponds were serene and very quiet today, and I saw no one else. My turnaround point was the small pond after Mud Pond, 3.0 mi. from the trailhead, where there are good views up to the slides on Mt. Clough.
