 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Rock hops for all, the crossing of Ammo was the only thing that really required wet feet, but that was at the end and I took the opportunity to douse myself anyways. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Edmands Cutoff is brushy in places but not too too bad. Other than that, nothing to write home about. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Edmands may be a bit tough due to the rock hopping and sidehilling. Also, the talus warrants booties of tough feet. |

2nd day of redlining up here. Today, the weather cooperated and views were ever present. Also made for a more enjoyable morning than I thought as the sun was warm and winds very light. Still amazed at the number of unprepared, uneducated, and blissfully ignorant people up on these big hills. So many "which trail is this?" "which one is Washington?" "does the trail get easier?" "why isn't there a road down this side of the mountain?" and other crazy questions. Anyways, didn't hear of any rescues so that's always a good thing. As noted, Edmands has some difficult spots due to the awkward line it takes and some brushy spots, but not crazy tough. Heading down Jewell, the ever-improving footing was very welcome as my dogs were barking after a couple of days on rock. Paid $15 to the caretake to stay at the Perch last night. Tagged Adams V on my way out this morning and enjoyed another wonderful summer day. |
