Comments: Great to visit this old friend on such an azure-sky day. My right glute was burning by the time we reach the top. It appeared we were one of the few there just doing North - most were traversing both north and south - reinforcing both that we are not-24 anymore, but also that we consider ourselves lucky, even blessed, to touch such grandeur regularly. Being encircled by mountain peaks that you’ve mostly climbed is just such a trip - And the ones you haven’t yet summited quickly become tantalizing dreams for the next journey.
Despite all the cars in the parking lot the trail really wasn’t crowded at all. A little mud on the herd path near the river and ascending the third river crossing. A great day. To the lady from Maryland: thanks for the suggestion of the reclined pigeon pose for the glute. Worked wonders.
