Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Crossing of North Fork of the Hancock Branch were easy on both the Cedar Brook Trail and Hancock Loop Trail. All other crossing of small brooks were even easier.

Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails in good condition. No obstructions. The steep approaches to the ridge on the Hancock Loop Trail have improved in recent years but there are still some loose rocks that one can slip on if not careful. The bog bridges on the ridge between the Hancock peaks are holding up well.

Comments
Comments: Fine day on the Hancocks. The hike is relatively easy except for the ascent and descent to/from ridge. Even the steeper terrain is not too difficult if hiked with care.
Great views of the Sandwich Range from the outlook ledge on Hancock (aka North Hancock). Views toward Franconia Ridge in thinned forest area on the ridge trail. Good views of Mt Carrigain from South Hancock outlook. Best views of Arrow Slide from trail from South Hancock to the loop junction.
Gray Jays at South Hancock.
Lots of hikers on the trail today. Walked with Jackie and Daniel for most of the hike.
