Comments
Comments: Our first time going up the slide. We took the north branch at the loop junction and at first tried to get to the slide from the bottom of the decline right after the junction but didn't have any luck here. Got back from the trail and stayed on it until it takes a sharp right, and at that point we bushwhacked to the left and came out onto the slide, although not at the very bottom. See picture on our blog post for reference. Slide was unstable talus and scree for much of the hike, the kind where you don't want to be going up directly behind anyone else. Lots of wet slabs with a layer of algae on them that made them very slippery, although luckily there were enough dry areas to make it past. Would not attempt this when the whole thing is wet. It splits at a large cairn near the top, we went left and came out at the view point right near the summit after a short dense bushwhack.
