the Ice Gulch is the most fun one can have in the Whites, I may think. Spectacular, rugged, unique, challenging, etc. Rocks were bone dry most of the way. Bottom half well blazed in red. Upper half only saw a few old faded blazes but easy to stay on trail-just look left and right-are you still in a crazy gulch? yes-then you're on the trail! Other trails were easy and great for trail running. Out and backed upper portion of peek path for redlining. The waterfall is nice and very steep both up and down. Highly recommend this hike if you like jungle-gym scrambles over huge boulder crevasses:) Made it through the hike in just over 2 hours-was racing inclement weather that never showed up, thankfully |
