Beautiful day for this trek. Glen Boulder is pretty grown in for a lot of the alpine zone. Lots of bushes and brush rubbing on your legs.
The bit of trail over to Isolation past the Rocky Branch trail is MUCKY. I slipped and sunk my boot half way up my calf- avoidable but tedious in spots.
Rocky Branch is wet as we expected. Lots of hopping from rock to rock in the stream/wet areas. Still beautiful and enjoyable aside from the exhaustion.
We were on the trail at 5:30am and didn't see another soul until 11. It was pretty muggy in the trees and you should bring copious amount of water if you plan on hiking in this heat this weekend. Even with an early start. |
