It’s been a few years since I’ve done this route but it is so fun. Early start not a lot of people out heading to Cannon. Great views from the top of the ladder in the two viewpoints looking down at Lonesome Lake. hazy looking towards Franconia Ridge. Only a few on top nice breeze as it was hot and muggy in the woods. Hazy views but a handful of people that I passed chatted for a bit then headed for the Cannonballs. Surprisingly ran into six people heading from the Kinsmans, and had people behind me heading to the Kinsmans as well. Quick detour to the KinsmanPond shelter site as I was staying the night. Grab a spot on the platform filtered water made my way back up to the Kinsmans. Lots of people heading back as I was heading towards South Peak. Only a few on South Peak I continued past about 200 yards to where it opens up and had the place to myself! Back to the Lookout on North & was showing the path to the ledges looking down on Kinsman Pond, fifth time up here never knew where it was thank you Eric for showing me what a beautiful spot! Nice soak in the pond after dinner beautiful night. |
