A long (9.6 miles) out and back with a turnaround at Thoreau Falls. Really gorgeous hike though, and milage aside it's very easy. I've always loved that stretch of Ethan Pond where it opens up past the Zeacliff trail junction-one of the most unique places in the Whites. Thoreau Falls is in the Pemi Wilderness, and you really get that wilderness feel when you're there. There's a great view of Mt. Bond too.
Hikers were out and about but we had the falls to ourselves. |
