Parking/Access Road Notes: Small dirt lot at trailhead on River Rd, room for 3 or so cars. More options in dirt lot across the street along Saco.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: A few within first 1.5 mi, one flowing, the others dry or almost dry. All step-overs.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A little over-grown (grasses) in the first mile, a couple of old blowdowns around 1.5 miles (easy stepovers). Overall trails in great shape, thank you. Few blazes, but easy to follow.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: One adorable beagle today, very sweet and friendly. Great trail for dogs but super dry, bring ample water. No water after about 1.5 mi, totally dry after that.
Bugs
Bugs: Lots of flies at summit, small blackflies throughout. A few spongy caterpillars down low.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: n/a

Comments
Comments: Two cars and a motorcycle upon arrival at 10am, just my car at 3pm. Just three solo hikers today, one with the beagle. Beautiful views of presies and surrounding ridges and ranges. Some sections of trails have loose gravel that acts like marbles under foot....did not notice this on the way up, but definitely slippery in a couple spots on the way down in those sections... UT may just be me.
