Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I parked at the HOL along Sandwich Notch Rd just north of the peak. There’s a place for at least one car to park off the road here. Believe it or not, I don’t think I’ve ever been on this side of Sandwich Notch Rd before. I understand it’s reputation more so now. One section my car struggled with just FWD but it made it up the hill (barely). I’m sure low clearance cars make it through but I’d recommend mid-clearance. Also, for anyone that may be curious, the road that descends to Upper Hall Pond is only suitable for high clearance and AWD vehicles I’d say.

Comments
Comments: Day 253, Peak 250. 2nd hike/peak of the day for the 500 after Brown Ash Swamp Mtn.

From my car, I crossed the road and headed south through the woods to the peak. Mostly open woods but with a number of blowdowns mostly closer to the road. No major patches or anything just a lot of them. Easy-moderate grades mostly. A couple possible contenders for the highpoint but it would seem to be at a bump with an old belt or some sort of relic hung around the remains of a tree. No jar. I returned on roughly the same track.

The hike was about 3/4mi with 200ft of gain. It took me 1/2hr to complete. 112 more days and 115 more peaks to go…
