| Comments: |
Almost all dry surfaces making for secure footing. The few tree falls are low to the surface and easy to get over.
Shining Rock accessed by a short spur (sign) has water running down the rock. The steep rock should not be attempted by hikers.
Some spots in the alpine zone are cordoned off to prevent foot traffic on the vegetation.
The floral display included Mountain Avens, Labrador Tea, Sandwort, Alpine Goldenrod, and Laurel.
Great views above tree line although there was some haze softening the views of the distant peaks (like Kearsarge North). |
