 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of parking at Ferncroft. The usual parking lot for McCrillis is quite far from the actual trailhead. |
 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
 | Recommended Equipment: |
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
No water crossings! On the subject of water... Tilton Spring was not too clear today |
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Red was overgrown with grass at the very beginning but didn't make trail finding difficult. Pasture was in great shape. 2 insignificant blow downs on Tilton Spring. The half of McCrillis closest to Whiteface was lovely, the half closer to the Flat Mountain trailhead was very hard to find, overgrown with ferns, muddy, and unmarked. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
 | Bugs: |
Absolutely horrendous amounts of bugs on Tilton Spring Path and McCrillis path. Led me to walk the road on the way back because they were such a pain. |

 | Comments: |
Mount Katherine itself was really lovely and to anyone looking for a quick hike good for coming back from an injury, traveling with little kids, or you're just hungover. I'd recommend: the Red & Pasture loop, Pasture & Tilton Spring loop, or Red & Tilton Spring loop. Skip McCrillis unless you're tracing. Lots more info in the link below. |
