 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A couple of older easy step overs. It looked like recent water bar maintenance had occurred but a couple about 1/2 way in were filled in with recent rain. Hard to avoid taller grasses up high but no ticks found. Trails were dry except for the wet temporary re-route at the start. |

 | Comments: |
The temporary re-route around construction was spongy and wet after previous nights rain; hard to avoid getting wet feet. The re-route was clearly marked at the beginning but slowly faded to various herd paths in open woods, no big deal for me after being on these trails a couple dozen times. Construction was taking a day off so I returned the traditional route.
The caterpillars have really taken to this Green Hills Preserve area. They eat everything. Felt like hiking in April. Fortunately they’re not the Brown Tail Moth caterpillars that are taking over mid coast Maine and cause horrendous rashes of you if you come in contact.
A few ripe blueberries near the summit. Heard a Barred Owl calling. |
