| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of parking at East Randolph even when Appalachia was overflowing today. Why not park here and take Randolph Path to Valley Way/Airline/etc? |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
All crossings are very low right now.
Randolph Path: 1 very easy crossing at the jct with Inlook and Brookside (there are rocks planted specifically for aiding with the crossing)
Short Line: just very wet in general, no crossings
Kelton Trail: a couple of challenging crossings that are rock-hoppable as of now
Great Gully: the trail crosses over and goes through a high-elevation stream twice. The blue blazes indicate when to turn and go through the stream |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Randolph Path: needs minor brushing
Short Line: no issues
King Ravine Trail: needs a little brushing on the Elevated
Great Gully Trail: needs significant brushing throughout the whole trail
Gulfside: needs brushing near Madison Spring hut
Pine Link: cairns are a little small
Watson Path: no issues
The Brookside: some brushing needed
Kelton Trail: some brushing needed
Howker Ridge Trail: no issues |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
King Ravine and Great Gully I think would be bad for dogs that have not already been tested on trails with extreme scrambling. Pine Link might also be an issue since the rocks were very sharp and the footing was quite rough. Watson Path also had a lot of sharp rock hopping but is more akin to Airline. |

| Comments: |
As far as following Great Gully I had no issues. There are plenty of blue blazes so as long as you're experienced dealing with grown-in trails it should be fine. The corridor is really grown in but the footbed is obvious (mostly rock anyway). Today was a lovely weather day and even on 4th of July weekend I saw few hikers on these particular trails. |
