| Comments: |
Trails were mostly dry.
Ski trail grass/weeds are pretty high at this point. In addition, there is major construction going on in the base area (e.g. where the ski trail viewpoint eventually leads), so the trails are not a great option. The gravel access road is not being heavily used at the moment (and avoids the base area construction), so that is probably the best route at this point. Lots of wildflowers, and strawberries are now ripe.
On the way down the access road, I encountered a Honda Accord (!) about 700 vertical feet up the mountain. The driver asked, "where is the Mt. Tay-coom-say Trail?"
Sunny day with temperatures hitting the low 80s with some humidity. Trails still busy, despite gas prices hovering around $5. |
