Great Monday hike up the West Ridge Trail out-and-back. Started out at the state park parking lot up the West Ridge to the summit. Water crossings were low; barely running at the falls area to the left of the trail.
The summit was clear with excellent views of Camels Hump in VT, Franconia Notch and the Presidential Range. Excellent day but typical windy conditions on the summit.
Quiet on the way up, passed plenty of hikers on the way down. Parking lot was full at the bottom.
Glad to see they are putting a couple outhouses at the parking lot, since last year the permanent toilets were and still are locked. |
