| Water Crossing Notes: |
All easy, rocks were slippery |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
All were in good shape, several blowdowns on all trails nothing new. Kedron Flume above railroad crossing has a combo step-over duck-under, & another crawl over. I cleaned branches off all trails due to the wind. 12-15 standing dead of 2"-4" diameter also cleared that was blown over. Ladders need to be addressed as they are in tough shape, 4 steps missing several more not to far from collapsing. Herd paths forming around all, 2nd ladder pretty much useless. |

Opted for these peaks due to the weather conditions, happy I did. Lots of folks out, to my surprise. 1st time up KFT, beautiful trail. Crossing of Flume was easy stepover. Wet trail after crossing pretty much the rest of the day. It's been 5-6 years since I went up the ladders, really slippery, these are in tough shape. Wind was really blowing at all summits, lookouts on Willey & Field really cold when I went by. Running water on both sides of Field. Wet muddy in the usual spots between Willey & Field. Minor mud heading up Tom. Not the best weather day but not having the black flies out is a great tradeoff! Lots of braiding in many areas, some erosion is starting on these. |
